You can have mimosa flowers all year round with this DIY Embroidery Kit!
I originally created this pattern for International Women's Day workshops, inspired by the European tradition of gifting yellow flowers, usually Mimosa Flowers, to women on March 8th. But the design is too pretty to only use once a year, and you don't have to stick with yellow flowers (lilac works, too!).
This is a really lovely beginner pattern, especially for anyone who loves floral designs (who doesn't), as it teaches you three fundamental stitches often used for floral embroidery.
Kit includes:
- A card with the link to download your stitch by stitch pattern guide (this will also automatically be sent to you using the email you provided at check out)
- 9-inch piece of Calico Cotton with your pattern printed on in washable fabric ink
- Two full DMC threads
- Two needles
- and, of course, the all-important 6-inch wooden hoop!
With this kit, you’ll learn several different stitches, and be guided through every step of the process to complete - and customise your own Mimosa Flower Hoop. The pattern is perfect for beginners, and the guide gives advice and top tips for how to make the most out of your stitches.
Perfect for beginners
This is the ideal kit for those who have never embroidered before (or for those looking to refine their skills). Everything you need is included in the box (apart from scissors), and the design teaches you several basic stitches and all the foundations you need for your embroidery journey!

Why Embroidery?
Embroidery is the perfect art for people looking to take an hour or so out of their day and find some peace.
Every stitch forces you to slow down and be in the moment. It keeps your hands and mind busy, and if you make a mistake, it’s easy to correct.
Embroidery came into my life when I needed it most, right at the beginning of the lockdown. When my anxiety was sky high, I found a craft that could distract from the never-ending news cycle when nothing else could. I know ‘mindful’ is a word thrown around a lot, but as someone who has never managed to meditate, I know that embroidery can provide the respite so many desperately need.
Please note scissors and the display stand are not included.
Calico is natural untreated cotton, which means it has a lovely natural cream and speckled look to it.
All hoops are photographed in natural daylight. Due to differences in screen settings, colours may differ slightly between photos and the physical product. I have captured the true colours to the best of my ability.
