Stitching is the perfect way to make some room for a little mindfulness in your life. Keep your mind and your hands busy and create a beautiful piece of architectural art for your home! Or stitch it up and give the final hoop as a gift to a loved one!
Everything you need is included in the box, including a full pattern guide with helpful photos and illustrations. It's basically a Hoop & Fred workshop delivered to your door!
Kit includes:
- 16-page stitch and pattern guide with photos
- 12-inch piece of Calico Cotton with your pattern printed on in washable fabric ink
- Thread card, with 6 DMC threads, all colour coded
- 2 needles
-
and of course the all-important 8-inch wooden hoop!
With this kit, you’ll learn five different stitches, and be guided through every step of the process to complete - and customise your own embroidered street scene. The pattern is perfect for beginners looking for a challenge, and the guide gives advice and top tips for how to make the most out of your stitches.
Already have all the kit? This design is available as a downloadable pattern here.
For Confident Beginners or experienced stitchers
This design has some intricate areas, and lots of straight lines which will require a little bit of patience, but I believe in you! The stitch guide will take you through every step of the way, and you’ll quickly see you’re stitching improve (and you can always go back and redo any wobbly first stitches if you need to).
Please note scissors and the display stand are not included.
Calico is natural untreated cotton, which means it has a lovely natural cream and speckled look to it.
All hoops and kits are photographed in natural daylight. Due to differences in screen settings, colours may differ slightly between photos and the physical product. I have captured the proper colours to the best of my ability.
Why Embroidery?
Embroidery is the perfect art for people looking to take an hour or so out of their day and find some peace.
Every stitch forces you to slow down and be in the moment. It keeps your hands and mind busy, and if you make a mistake, it’s easy to correct.
Embroidery came into my life when I needed it most, right at the beginning of the lockdown. When my anxiety was sky high, I found a craft that could distract from the never-ending news cycle when nothing else could. I know ‘mindful’ is a word thrown around a lot, but as someone who has never managed to meditate, I know that embroidery can provide the respite so many desperately need.
