Fabric Printing for Tote Bags
These fabric printing workshops are designed to be playful, hands-on, and easy to drop into. Using predesigned stamps, household objects, or natural items (like leaves or flowers), participants create bold, graphic designs on tote bags in a short time, making this format ideal for busy workplaces, events, and shared spaces.
Fabric printing works particularly well for drop-in sessions, introducing new groups to creative activities, lunchtime activations, conferences, and building-wide events. The process is quick to learn, low-pressure, and immediately satisfying, allowing people to take part for just a few minutes or stay longer if they wish.
Who This Workshop Is For
This workshop is especially well suited to:
- People who may feel unsure about taking part in creative activities
- Corporate offices and shared workspaces
- Conferences, festivals, and large-scale events
- Organisations looking for a flexible drop-in activity
- Groups with limited time or mixed schedules
No previous creative experience is needed. The format is intuitive, welcoming, and designed to help people feel comfortable joining in.
What the Session Involves
Participants choose from a selection of hand-designed stamps, items and fabric inks, then print directly onto a tote bag (or other item). I demonstrate the process clearly at the start and guide people through each step as they take part.
The activity is designed so people can create something they feel proud of very quickly, without needing to plan or overthink. I manage the flow of the session throughout, helping people make choices, keeping things moving, and ensuring the space stays calm and organised, even when it’s busy.
All materials are provided, and I handle setup and pack-down.
Format & Timing Options
Fabric printing tote bag workshops are highly flexible and can be adapted to suit different spaces and schedules.
Common formats include:
- Drop-in sessions where people take part for 5 to 10 minutes
- Sessions as part of a larger event or conference
- Longer set classes, where people are given more time to play and practice with the different techniques
This workshop works particularly well in visible spaces such as foyers or communal areas, where people can see what others are making and feel encouraged to join in.
Designs & Creative Direction
Designs for fabric printing workshops can be kept simple or tailored to a specific theme or event.
Options include:
- Seasonal or event-based themes
- Limited colour palettes to keep the process quick and focused
- Bespoke designs created in response to a brief
Participants can follow a suggested layout or mix and match designs, and printing techniques, to create something personal and unique.
What Participants Leave With
By the end of the session, participants leave with:
- A printed tote bag (or other item) they’ve created themselves
- A sense of creative confidence and playfulness
- A genuine break from their working day or event schedule
- A positive, shared experience they can talk about with others
The activity is designed to feel energising rather than demanding.
Past Workshops & Experience
I’ve delivered fabric printing workshops across Manchester and the North West, in office foyers, conference venues, markets, festivals, and public-facing spaces. This format has been used successfully for family-friendly activities, workplace activations, brand-led events, and large-scale drop-in sessions.
Examples of this style of workshop can be found in The Workshop Diaries, including bespoke activations designed for conferences and events.
Location & Availability
I’m based in Manchester and deliver workshops across Greater Manchester, the North West, and beyond. Sessions can take place at your venue, or I can help you think through what kind of space would work best.
Advance booking is recommended, particularly during busy periods such as Valentine’s Day, International Women’s Day, Mental Health Awareness Week, and Christmas.
Pricing Guide
I price workshops in a clear, straightforward way so it’s easy to understand what’s included.
- Workshops start from £160, which covers planning, preparation, and delivery of the session
- Materials are priced per participant, typically around £5 per person, depending on the workshop and materials used
Final costs may vary slightly depending on group size, format, location, and any bespoke design work, but I’ll always confirm pricing clearly in advance.
If you’re working to a particular budget, I’m very happy to talk this through and suggest options that fit.
